5 travel tips for new globetrotters
Traveling isn’t always easy—it can be a mix of fun, the unexpected and sometimes super scary for a new globetrotter. Here are some tips to better prepare you for your next trip…
Research your destination: Before you travel, research the destination you're planning to visit. This will help you familiarize yourself with the culture, customs, and any potential language barriers. It will also help you plan your itinerary and budget accordingly.
Pack smart: Make a list of the essentials you'll need for your trip and try to pack light. It will make it easier for you to move around, and you'll avoid the hassle of lugging around a heavy suitcase.
Learn some basic phrases in the local language: Knowing some basic phrases in the local language will make it easier for you to communicate with locals and navigate your way around. It's also a sign of respect to the local culture.
Be flexible: Don't plan your trip too rigidly. Be open to new experiences and be willing to change your plans if something unexpected comes up.
Be prepared for the unexpected: Traveling comes with its own set of challenges, so be prepared for the unexpected. Make copies of important documents, such as your passport and travel insurance, and keep them in a separate place in case of loss or theft.

Top 5 Travel Mistakes
Going on your dream vacation sometimes doesn’t go according to plan. As an experienced travel agent, these are some of the top 5 mistakes people make when booking without having the proper knowledge or expertise.
1) Picking the wrong resort
Not checking out location, amenities, fulfilling trip and vacation needs. Sometimes resorts don’t have child friendly activities, waterparks, or babysitting options for traveling families. Some resorts work for couples only. Make sure you do your research before booking your trip!
2) Booking the cheapest flight
Sometimes cheaper is not the best. You can get stuck or stranded waiting for a connection, whereas a direct flight might be easier for your peace of mind and starting your trip with calm. For example: a 12 hour connection waiting at the airport or mixing up your airlines.
3) Waiting last minute
This is not for everyone! If you want specific times, flights or dates–those are hard to come by especially if you are waiting until the last minute to book your trip. A time window must be taken into consideration when wanting to be spontaneous. For example: Want to go to Italy in March? Start looking in November for the best options and rates! You will also save money and get the flights you want!
4) Picking the wrong vacation spots
A lot of people want to go on vacation to relax, others like participating in activities and guided tours. Make sure the destination you choose fulfills your needs as a tourist and a vacationer. For example: Want to go on an Ocean or River cruise? Your travel agent can advise you on the best cruise for you!
5) Not reading terms + conditions
You are not always going to get what you THINK. There are usually hidden terms and conditions with every supplier which most people are unaware of until it’s too late. For example: cancellation, changes or refunds.
Bindu recommends:
ALWAYS read the terms and conditions of the supplier, book at a reasonable time, don’t rush into something you can’t get out of later, and call me!
